It gives students the opportunity to challenge themselves to read more, and expand themselves to a broarder range of books. Students are given the opportunity to log their books on the PRC website during class time, and can also access their logs at home using their school log in. To complete the challenge, students need to read a certain number of books based on their age bracket.

Kindergarten - Year 2: 30 books

Each year book week is a celebration that brings children and books together. During this week schools and libraries celebrate Australian childrens literature through parades, displays and activities. This years Book Week theme is 'Reading is my Secret Power'.

This year we are celebrating Book Week on Tuesday 20th August. The day will consist of activities based on shortlisted books and our theme 'Reading is my Secret Power'.  At the end of the day, students are given the chance to show off their book week costumes with our whole school parade, located in the school hall.

At Coniston Public School we are lucky enough to receive book club magazienes, giving students the opportunity to purchase books for their own personal library. Each term, two magazienes will be issued, each with their own end date. Parents/carers are able to order these products using a credit card using the schoolastic website. Parents/carers have the option of having it delivered to the school, or home (at an additional cost). WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT CASH PAYMETS.
